If my neighbour has termites?

Townhouses and suburban homes sometimes share termite trouble.
While the termite nest may be in your neighbour’s garden three doors down, you can still experience the consequences.
Take the same steps to control termites coming from a neighbour as those coming from your own back yard.
Treat the termites with termite bait they will carry back to the nest to feed the termite colony. You may do a favour to a neighbour you don’t know, or even dislike, but you will have killed off a termite colony that was threatening your home!
In-home Termite Baiting System controls termites
If you find evidence of termite activity in window or door frames, skirting boards, roof or foundation timbers, you can apply household-safe bait directly over holes you’ve made into the wood where you have seen live termites.
Two principles apply:
1) You must see live termites feeding without disturbance, and
2) Termites must be able to enter bait canister and return to their tunnel in protected darkness. Products come with simple, illustrated instructions.
Use Termite monitors on any garden areas
Place TermiTraps around your property.
The serious termites don’t build a mound nest for you to notice so you may never know whether the nest was in yours or your neighbours’ backyards.
Check regularly for termite activity. Add the household safe colony killer termite bait when you see the termites’ “we’ve arrived” signal.
