You need to know termites… to be able to control them.
The subterranean termites that do most of the damage to homes, live in soil and make continuous tunnels in search of food that termites find in wood, cardboard, paper… anything with a large amount of cellulose.
These termites build mud tunnels when they must travel above ground to protect themselves.
Use a termite monitor placed in damp soil to offer an alternate food source
Put termite monitors (termitraps) filled with wood around your home to entice termites foraging for food. TermiTraps have a small hole at the top that termites will cover with a mud mixture when they begin to harvest material in the Trap.
Load Colony Killer Termite Bait in the termite monitor to help termites destroy themselves
Once you see the blocked hole which is evidence of live termites consuming wood in the TermiTrap, mix Colony Killer Termite Bait with water and insert at the top.
The bait is easier for the termites to harvest than wood and they eagerly ingest the bait.
Worker termites will carry this termite bait back to the nest to share with the colony.
The young termite nymphs who eat the colony killer termite bait will fail to develop a hard outer shell and will die.
Decomposing gases from the dead termites bodies then kill the rest of the colony.
The termites help control themselves!
