More than 350 species of termites call Australia home.
The majority of Australian residents face some level of termite trouble.
Termite territory includes the entire Australian continent with the exception of a small coastal strip of land west of Melbourne and the island State of Tasmania.
To safeguard your home from these industrious insects, you need an effective form of termite control.
Termite bait is one successful option of termite control.
Homeowners can place the bait in monitors stationed on land around the property or directly on locations within the home that have an established termite presence. The termite bait is more attractive than the timber because termite bait is moist and no effort is needed to harvest it.
Young Termites are the First to Fall
The cellulose-based Colony Killer Termite Bait also contains a growth-regulating chemical which is taken back to the nest by worker termites to share with the entire colony.
Young termites or nymphs who receive and eat the bait back at the nest find they cannot form the hard shell needed to moult and mature and they die.
Gases from the decomposing nymph bodies and rampant fungus destroy the entire colony.
