Industry reports suggest up to 80% of Australian homes are located within 25 metres of a termite colony, with the exception of Tasmania.
Archicentre, the building advisory service of the Australian Institute of Architects, identified a third of Australian homes revealing some level of termite damage during pre-purchase property inspections.
With an average $8,000 treatment and repair bill for termite damage, termite control and prevention makes sense.
Termite Baiting System provides effective Do-It-Yourself termite control
A simplified cycle of monitoring for termites around buildings, baiting any termite monitors under attack, resetting them and regular inspections just in case is all explained in a fully illustrated How-to-Guide written by Ion Staunton, an entomologist with Termikill Pty Ltd in Australia.

Prevention is better than cure
Homeowners can obtain the termite monitors and the human, pet and wildlife safe termite bait to control termites before they rack up massive damage.
The termitraps come filled with Tassie oak timber, designated by the CSIRO as the preferred food source for termites already foraging on your property.
The Colony Killer Termite Bait comes in powder form to which do-it-yourselfers add water and place on the top of the termitraps.
This termite bait is carried from termitrap back to the termite nest, thereby sealing the fate of the colony.
Large termite colonies will require multiple feeds of bait before the nest is destroyed.
Keep feeding until you see no signs of activity at the termitrap. If the termite bait is being taken it is only a matter of time before they self-destruct.
